The purpose of this search is to start implementation on my budding software engineering project. My idea is that when someone is looking at a piece of code, what the code does isn't as important as how the code got that way. I want a piece of software where you can highlight some code and instantly browse the relevant changesets to that snippit, along with their comments.

  • Search starts at wikipedia:

eclipse

First, I need to know what is available for eclipse. I started at wikipedia to get a list of reputable pluging sites.

None of these three sites have anything that appears to do what I want.

emacs

Only found references to a default svn client for subversion and psvn maintained by XSteve. Niether of these look particularily fascinating.

visualization

I decided instead to see which tools already exist to better visualize revisions in files.

gs: revision history difference visualize
